Analysis from web metrics firm Hitwise indicates that Radiohead were more successful than Nine Inch Nails and Coldplay at attracting and then maintaining traffic following their recent album promotions/giveaways. Radiohead's website saw a bigger spike around the release of In Rainbows than the other bands saw around their recent giveaways, and since In Rainbows Radiohead's site has maintained a higher level of traffic than it had before. However, Hitwise says US visits to Coldplay's site increased 19-fold after their new single Violet Hill was released for free online.
