MediaDefender is the anti-piracy firm that's become something of a pariah for pro-P2P types, thanks to its work for the RIAA, right? Well, yes, but it's also at the forefront of the ad-supported music movement. TorrentFreak is reporting on MediaDefender''s aim to distribute legal MP3s through P2P services like LimeWire as marketing campaigns for label clients. Indeed, the company apparently made $560,000 from P2P marketing last year, with aims to increase this revenue stream in 2008.
