As part of Vivendi’s second-quarter financial results announcement, the company has revealed Universal Music Group’s performance. UMG generated revenues of just over 1 billion for the quarter, which is either a 5.3% decline (in real terms) or a 3% rise (if you take currency fluctuations into account). For the first half of the year, UMG?s revenues were just under 2.1 billion, a 2.4% decline / 4.9% rise by the same terms. UMG has also reported a 33% rise in digital sales year-on-year, with higher income from licensing making up for the continuing decline in physical sales.
