Claims have been made before that Apple is preparing to launch an iTunes-branded subscription-based music service, but the rumour has surfaced again with renewed intensity. Here's the (supposed) details: it'll launch in October, and for $129 a year, subscribers will get unlimited downloads from the iTunes Store. It'll also be bundled in with Apple's MobileMe service for $179.99. Three different Apple blogs have posted eerily similar details. However, there's no clue what approach Apple would take, for example, on how much music users could keep if they stopped subscribing.
