Fresh from the success of their iPhone photo mosaic app, the Grateful Dead have signed a deal with on-demand book publisher Blurb to create books for each of the 17 dates on their 2009 reunion tour. The books will contain photos of each concert, with fans able to use their own photograph on the cover, and will be available within 72 hours of each show. “The band wanted to enable the Dead Heads to visually experience the show in a totally new way,” says official photographer Jay Blakesberg. It kicks off on Wednesday, but no news on how much the books will actually cost – you can get more info from the official Grateful Dead page on the Blurb website. The band is also selling downloads of the shows from its own website.
