MTV and videogame maker Harmonix are dialling up the hype volume to eleven as they begin marketing of their game “The Beatles: Rock Band”. This week they have launched a “Pre-Order Club”: customers who pre-order the game in Europe or North America will gain a code that will grant them access to “breaking news and exclusive behind the scenes elements” (we doubt, of course, that many of these elements will stay very “exclusive” for long once they''re copy-and-pasted into the blogosphere or YouTube).Perhaps more alluring for Beatles fans is the news that they''ll be able to get their hands on miniature plastic replicas not just of Paul McCartney''s famous Hofner bass and “Ringo Starr inspired Ludwig branded” drums as previously announced, but also versions of John Lennon''s Rickenbacker and George Harrison''s Gretsch guitars.
