While many artists and labels are striking pre-release streaming deals with services like MySpace Music, Spotify and We7, Placebo have gone a different route for their new album. It’ll be streamable on a private section of the band’s own website this weekend, with fans having to register to get an entry code. You only get five listens though, and each time you can only listen to the complete album from start to finish – quit out after two tracks, and that still counts as one of your five goes.It seems a bit restrictive if we’re honest, but we’re sure fans will jump at the chance for even a few listens ahead of release.
