New research from the Strategic Advisory Board for Intellectual Property (SABIP) claims that around seven million UK consumers are downloading content illegally, getting free access to material worth as much as £120 billion a year. The report also warns that internet users on the recently-launched 50Mbps broadband connections could download 200 MP3 files in five minutes, a DVD in three minutes, and the complete digitised works of Charles Dickens in less than ten minutes. Aren’t they out of copyright?
