Some lucky Amazon UK customers got their hands on some digital bargains yesterday, when the site’s MP3 store sold various recent albums for £0.29 each. That’s per album, not per track. Among those on offer at this price were the latest albums by Lily Allen, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Coldplay, Metallica and Coldplay, as well as Led Zeppelin’s 24-track Mothership compilation. Crazy loss-leader or embarrassing cock-up? It seems the latter, since a few hours after we discovered the prices, they’d all been put back up again to £7.99 and above.
