Website-building service Moonfruit has launched a Twitter hashtag marketing campaign, following a similar one a few weeks ago from rival Squarespace. Here’s how it works: Twitter users are being asked to include the hashtag #moonfruit in their tweets, and every day for ten days, a random user who includes the hashtag will win a MacBook Pro laptop. As a result, #moonfruit is now the top trending topic on Twitter, beating even #michaeljackson and #iranelection. You can imagine this working for a music site or artist with very little modification.
