Radiohead have released a brand new song, which the band say was inspired by the recent death of British World War I veteran Harry Patch. As you’d expect, there’s a strong digital angle – it’s being sold on the band’s own W.A.S.T.E. website, albeit for a fixed price of £1 rather than an In Rainbows style pay-what-you-like offer. However, in a quirky old media tie-in, the track was debuted on terrestrial radio – but on current affairs programme Today rather than a music show. Proceeds from the track are going to charity the British Legion.
