Twitter is currently buzzing with claims that Apple has rejected Spotify's iPhone app, which has been awaiting approval for a couple of weeks now. If true, it would be hugely controversial, particularly in the light of the recent rejection of Google's (non-music) Google Voice application. However, before getting carried away…The Twitter buzz has come mostly from a tweet by the UK's Macworld magazine, which tweeted “We're hearing reports that Apple has refused Spotify for iPhone” earlier this afternoon. A follow-up tweet pointed out that “We should point out that all the reports are in Swedish though. We're translating.”.Among those reports appear to be this one from MKSE (it's in Swedish, but a Google translation can be found here). And this is where the problems come in – the translation could be read to be simply speculation on the continued delay of approval for the Spotify app, rather than an outright rejection. And even if the app has been rejected, it might be for a single feature – the lack of iTunes Store links perhaps – rather than a permanent ban.We've contacted Spotify to see if there's any truth in the rumour.
