Last night saw the launch party for music videos portal Vevo. U2 frontman Bono introduced the service as “a great vehicle that will allow fans to go behind the scenes with their favourite artists” and UMG boss, Doug Morris, claims the group controls over 80% of the world’s videos. Vevo won’t get HD videos until next year, but it does include synchronised and integrated lyrics. Meanwhile, launch sponsors include AT&T, McDonald’s, Nikon, Mastercard, Dove, Colgate, Axe and Infinit.
