Last night saw a star-studded launch party for music videos portal Vevo, with U2 frontman Bono introducing the service as “a great vehicle that will allow fans to go behind the scenes with their favourite artists”. UMG boss Doug Morris was also bullish, saying “this group controls over 80% of the world’s videos. This is the chance to stop playing defence and shape the next generation”. Some extra details: Vevo won’t get HD videos until next year, but it does include synchronised and integrated lyrics.
