Facebook has been awarded a patent for ‘Dynamically providing a news feed about a user of a social network’ – relating specifically to serving up a feed of actions by a user’s friends. That caveat means Twitter doesn’t have to worry, since the patent doesn’t relate to explicit status updates (or tweets). However, it could have implications for MySpace’s new Stream feature, which provides users with a stream of what their friends have been listening to, watching and playing on MySpace.
