Have a look at this picture it shows the number of MPs who bothered to turn up to the Digital Economy Bill debate yesterday in the UK House of Commons. With a General Election campaign now underway, the site of so few politicians attending the bill’s second reading before it goes into the ‘wash up’ process is hugely disheartening, whichever side of the debate you’re on. The bill is likely to be passed by tomorrow, but Commons leader Harriet Harman now says there will be a further public consultation on its anti-piracy regulations lasting 60 days. Of course, in 60 days’ time, the UK may have a new government in place… Source: PA
