Apple has announced that it took 600,000 pre-orders for its new iPhone 4 handset on Tuesday alone. “It was the largest number of pre-orders Apple has ever taken in a single day and was far higher than we anticipated,” says the company. Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster has upped his forecast for all iPhone sales (previous models included) to 9.5 million units in Q2, and another 9.5 million in Q3.
