TechCrunch has been digging into last week’s acquisition by Disney of iPhone music game developer Tapulous, claiming that the undisclosed purchase price was around $35 million, depending on earnouts. Tapulous had only raised $2.8 million in funding early in its life, and quickly became profitable based on sales of tracks, virtual items and in-game advertising in its Tap Tap Revenge games. The article suggests the company generated revenues of $5 million in 2009, and is on course for around $15 million this year.
