MySpace has launched an interesting new iPad app called Music Romeo, focused on music videos. Users are asked to pick a musical genre and then their current mood – Happy, Sad, Naughty, Partying etc – before being served up a stream of relevant music videos. There's a 'Love' button to mark favourite videos, with that data fed into the system to influence what other videos you see in the future. The app also ties into We Are Hunted's API to ensure it's serving up videos that are currently causing a stir on blogs and social networks. The business model? Video ads and commission on iTunes sales. For now, the app is US-only.In other MySpace news, the service is also offering what's described as a 'sneak peek' of its new user homepages (not profiles, but the pages they see when logging into the social network). Getting prominent placement is the MySpace Stream – a newsfeed of information about what a user's friends have been up to, Facebook-style. Widgets on the right hand side serve up friend and event recommendations, birthdays and other content.
