Warner Bros Records' website has been named in a lawsuit filed against a number of media companies, claiming they secretly tracked users – including children – by installing 'Flash cookies' on their computers. Disney and music site Playlist have also been named in the lawsuit, which revolves around a service provided to the sites by Clearspring Technologies.The lawsuit alleges its technology tracks the movements of users everywhere on the web, not just on the sites that installed the cookie. A similar lawsuit has been filed against Clearspring's rival Quantcast, which counts ABC and NBC among its clients. Flash cookies are getting something of a reputation, since they don't show up in the normal cookies preferences of a web browser.
