With much speculation that apps are higher in Apple's priority list than music, a new survey from NPD Group may bring comfort to the music industry. It finds that 82% of respondents have made a music purchase on iTunes, and 56% buy music exclusively from Apple's store. More than half say the majority of their time on iTunes is spent searching for music. “Sales growth in digital music has been slowing,” says NPD's Russ Crupnick. “Some of that decline might be related to the distraction from apps. However, iTunes shoppers are still completely engaged with music, whether it's about listening, discovering, or buying.”
