The first notification letters are due to be sent out via France's Hadopi agency imminently, but fraudsters are already seeking to take advantage by stealing its identity. A number of people have received letters claiming to be from Hadopi, accusing them of illegal file-sharing and demanding either payment or their bank details, for the purposes of a fine to avoid prosecution. Naturally, it's a scam. Hadopi is now facing the task of warning people about this, while at the same time educating them about its real initiative and warning letters. Source: ZeroPaid
