US developer DJB Radio Apps claims that Apple is no longer approving iPhone apps based on individual radio stations. The company claims that ten of its apps for US stations were rejected on 10 November, with Apple telling it that it now sees such apps as 'spam'. “We have talked to many Apple reps about this, but they appear to have a script that they all read from saying that a single-station app is not an enriching end-user experience,” writes the company on its website. “We disagree, since our single-station apps have had more than 44,000 downloads in the past month.” DJB's James Barcus even emailed Apple CEO Steve Jobs to complain, receiving a characteristically terse reply: “Sorry, but we've made our decision.”
