MTV has teamed up with Kings of Leon and social music startup SuperGlued for a fan contest, ahead of the band’s gig at Slane Castle in Ireland late this month. The Road to Slane is a gamified contest where fans get points for carrying out various actions, such as Liking the band on Facebook and tweeting about them, posting videos or writing reviews on Tumblr. At the end of the contest, people’s point totals will be reviewed by MTV and SuperGlued, along with their content, to choose two grand prize winners to be flown to the gig, meet the band, and be ‘the eyes and ears of the fans’ during the show.
