UK Music Development Agency Generator has developed a unique qualification for learners wanting to start or expand a music business. Managing a Music Business Enterprise (MMBE) is the only bespoke fully accredited Level 3 Diploma for those looking to establish their own music business. The 13 week course is designed to support those who want to be an artist manager, a promoter, a booking agent, run their own record label or publishing company. MMBE has been backed by UK Music. “We have supported Generator’s development of the new programme and are delighted it is now ready to be delivered throughout the UK,” says chief executive Feargal Sharkey. “This innovative qualification will help new music businesses establish themselves and contribute to the growth of the UK music industry. The fact they will come out with an investment ready business plan as well as a qualification makes this a `real world’ business training programme.” The course will be delivered in partnership with Gateshead College beginning on 30 June, and delivered in areas throughout the UK from September.
