Zynga has long been the biggest social games publisher on Facebook by far, but Electronic Arts is gunning for its top titles. A few weeks ago, The Sims Social went live – the first Facebook game based on EA’s popular people-sim. Its growth has been rapid: by Friday it was the second most popular Facebook game by daily active users (DAUs) – 9.3 million, taking it ahead of Zynga’s FarmVille which had 8.1 million.
