Apple has published its annual Rewind charts, revealing the best-selling music, films, TV shows, apps and e-books of 2011 on its iTunes Store, as well as the company’s editorial picks. On the latter front, Adele was named as Artist of the Year in both the US and UK stores, with Foo Fighters’ Wasting Light getting the US nod as Album of the Year, while Laura Marling’s A Creature I Don’t Know took that title in the UK. New Artist of the Year was Nicki Minaj (US) and Ed Sheeran (UK), with Song of the Year being Foster The People’s Pumped Up Kicks (US) and Adele’s Someone Like You (UK). Best-sellers? Adele topped the US and UK albums list with 21, with her Rolling In The Deep the best selling song on iTunes in the US, followed by LMFAO’s Party Rock Anthem. In the UK, those two songs swapped places. Apple named five best music apps: its own GarageBand, Magic Piano, SoundTracking, Songkick Concerts and Cleartune.
