The latest company to leap onto the crowdfunding bandwagon is… YouTube! Google’s video site is now making it easier for people to link their videos to projects on two crowdfunding sites: Kickstarter and Indiegogo. “We’ve been inspired by creators who have funded projects through these platforms, like Freddie Wong’s Video Game High School and James Rolfe’s Angry Video Game Nerd: The Movie, and we hope this helps many more of you launch the projects you’ve been dreaming about,” explains YouTube in a blog post. While it’s more focused on filmmakers, this could be just as useful for musicians. YouTube has also launched its own page on the Kickstarter site to spotlight creatives who are using the annotations.
