The latest music-related startup trying to raise money on Kickstarter is R-Evolution Downloadable Album Tees. Founded by musician Jeremy Schulz, the company is making t-shirts for bands that “stream & download music to a fan’s smartphone or computer”. Which basically involves putting a QR code on the t-shirt’s label which, when scanned, provides the album download and stream. Schulz is trying to raise $10k on Kickstarter “to open a Tee Shirt Shop that can supply indie artists with affordable DATs.  I need basic items like a rental space, machinery, computer, phone lines, a fax machine and ink”. The idea of bundling music with a t-shirt isn’t new: Mos Def tried it three years ago (Bulletin, 17-Jun-09). Helping independent musicians do it is an interesting idea, though.
