In our final Sandbox issue of the year we dissect 20 of the best digital marketing campaigns of 2012. Covering pop, rock, dance, classical, hip-hop and world, it’s a broad sweep of genres and an equally broad sweep of platforms being used.
Among the big themes this year were the intricate use of social media (Blur debuting songs on Twitter), augmented reality finally overcoming its gimmick status (The Rolling Stones), fan engagement (One Direction), Spotify breaking unsigned acts (Cazzette) and subscription retailing (Domino Drip).
