He might be, for the music business, a one-off with regard to turning his app into a shop window, but there is a lot to learn from what he and the gaming industry have achieved here. We look at how this part of the business can move beyond big acts and gimmicky products to become cash cows in their own right – but only if and when Android can catch up with iOS in terms of being a proper sales driver.
