The latest startup focusing on the music industry’s workflow is Reprtoir, which will soon be launching its software-as-a-service (SaaS) tools for music companies.
Or as the French firm describes it: “A complete SaaS suite built by and for music industry professionals that powers operating teams of all sizes… a breakthrough online music industry platform that lets artists, producers, labels and publishers administer, license, pitch, publish, produce, distribute and manage master recordings, releases, musical works, videos and playlists.”
A jack-of-all-trades, then, built by “music industry professionals that has been working in the business for the past three decades”.
The company is initially focusing on six main areas: tools for managing recordings’ metadata and delivering them to digital services; creating playlists for Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer and SoundCloud; handling publishing tasks including copyright administration and licence pitching; setting copyright policies for YouTube, Facebook and SoundCloud; managing channels, videos and playlists on YouTube and DailyMotion; and processing sales and royalty payouts.
Reprtoir’s ‘early access’ service is due to open up sometime in the third quarter of this year.
