South Korean boy-band BTS made a splash at the American Music Awards last weekend, and now they’re breaking records on Twitter too.
They’ve been included in this year’s Guinness Book of World Records for “having the world’s most Twitter engagements for a music group”. Dedication’s what they needed for that.
Huffington Post provided some more stats on how BTS took top spot in this particular contest: “According to Guinness World Records, the group has amassed an average of roughly 252,200 retweets per tweet on Twitter to date,” it claimed. “For comparison, runner-up Harry Styles has received an average of 165,473 retweets.”
The accolade follows BTS being named in Time Magazine’s 25 Most Influential People on the Internet list earlier this year, rubbing shoulders with J.K. Rowling, Donald Trump, Baby Ariel off Musical.ly and the bloke who invented alt-right mascot Pepe the Frog.
What times we live in!
