MP3Tunes founder questions major label lawsuit policy
Michael Robertson certainly isn’t going to go quietly in his lawsuit against EMI. Although he’s vigorously denying that MP3Tunes’ locker service infringes labels’ copyrights, he’s also got a burning question about their strategy when it comes to suing startups. “If you look at the lawsuits that are pending, they seem to be doing a very good job of divvying up the litigation,” he says. “Warner is suing some, EMI are suing others - and I find that very curious. There’s not one where they’re suing the same company!” However, Robertson seemingly isn’t planning to turn this observation into an anti-trust complaint: “I’m not a government intervention kind of guy…”
