Digital predicted to account for 56.5% of total music spend by 2011
eMarketer has released a new report with its worldwide recorded music spending forecasts for the next three years. The topline figures Spending will fall from $27.9 billion this year to $27.2 billion in 2009, and $26.6 billion in 2010, stabilising at the same amount in 2011. The company sees physical sales continuing to fall and digital continuing to rise, with digital forecast to account for 25.5% of sales this year, 39.4% next year, 48.5% in 2010 and then 56.5% in 2011.
