Envelope mix-up leaves Virgin Media with egg on its face

We’ve written plenty about UK ISP Virgin Media’s plans to send `educational’ letters to customers it believes have been illegally sharing music, along with separate letters from the BPI. However, Virgin was firm about the fact that it wouldn’t threaten disconnection in these letters. The company stuck to its guns in the letters, but the envelopes were another story - they did mention disconnection. Virgin Media has told Music Ally it was all an admin error - Virgin Media put the letters inside its standard envelopes used for users who have breached its terms and conditions - which have a note on them mentioning disconnection.
