Vodafone launches on-handset mobile music store

Vodafone has launched a new mobile music download store in the UK, which takes the form of an application sitting on the user’s phone. It’s selling a la carte tracks starting at £0.99, with albums starting at £5.99. The new application has been launched under the Vodafone Music brand, and will offer over-the-air downloads, powered by RealNetworks. Vodafone says the app will complement, not replace, Omnifone’s MusicStation subscription service, which it also offers to its customers as an application. It’ll be interesting to see which one gets promoted more though
