CES 2009: GigaTribe community file-sharing app launches v3
GigaTribe is one of the companies touting itself as a next-gen file-sharing platform. Its thing is community-based file-sharing, where users set up a ‘tribe’ of friends, family and co-workers to share unlimited music, video, music and other files with.
Anyway, the company has announced a public beta of version 3 of its software, which will be shown off at next week’s CES show in Las Vegas. New features include a revamped user interface, the ability to comment on or rate files shared with one’s tribe, and a new option to tag content to be only made available for sharing when you’re online.
The public beta of GigaTribe v3 is available now for free, while the final version will be out by the end of March. The company claims it already has more than a million users, which if it hasn’t already, should bring it onto the music industry’s radar.
