Report claims Apple taking iTunes fully DRM-free tonight

A report on CNET claims that Apple could announce a fully DRM-free iTunes Store as soon as tonight’s MacWorld keynote speech. Another unfounded rumour?

Perhaps not – this one has specific details, claiming that Apple will allow labels to charge more than $0.99 for some hit songs, although the price of older tracks will fall to $0.79. What’s more, the same story suggests that Apple may also announce the ability for iPhone owners to buy music from iTunes over their mobile networks.

Currently, the iPhone iTunes Store only works on a Wi-Fi connection. All will be revealed in tonight’s speech, which we’ll be covering here on the Music Ally Blog.
