MGMT and Fleet Foxes top Hype Machine 2008 Zeitgeist charts
MGMT was the hottest artist of 2008, according to The Hype Machine’s Music Blog Zeitgeist chart, which tracks online buzz for last year.
Radiohead came second, followed by Cut Copy, Hot Chip and Vampire Weekend. Who said the music blogosphere likes getting into a froth about nice middle-class white boys most? Oh…
Meanwhile, Fleet Foxes’ debut album was the most buzzy album of 2008 according to the chart, followed by those from TV On The Radio, Vampire Weekend, Bon Iver and MGMT. We’re really impressed with the site that The Hype Machine has put together for the charts this year, including the ability to stream every album in full via a partnership with Imeem.
