Bob Marley… The Video Game?
The family of Bob Marley has teamed up with private equity firm Hilco Consumer Capital to sign a swathe of licensing deals for the Marley likeness, trademarks and themes.
They’re likely to include clothing, food and video games, according to the Wall Street Journal. Hilco has invested $20 million in the House Of Marley joint venture, apparently. The aim is to produce official merchandise and tie-ins, to combat the huge amount of unauthorised Bob products out there.
The video game angle is the most intriguing. A number of artists have signed up for branded games in recent years, including 50 Cent, the Wu-Tang Clan, Aerosmith and Metallica. Oh, and the Beatles, of course – they’re the subject of a hotly-anticipated game due out later this year. Could a Reggae Hero title be on the way from Activision?

bob was a man of simple things. i dont think he would want to have a video game about him in trenchtown because he loved the country.
