Priority Michael Jackson tickets for O2 customers via shortcode promotion

O2 has revealed that its customers will get priority tickets for the upcoming Michael Jackson gigs in London, but only if they text JACKSON to the shortcode 2402.

In return, they’ll be sent a code tomorrow morning, which can be used online to buy priority tickets. Whether this means they get in ahead of the hundreds of thousands of fans who’ve registered at the official Michael Jackson Live website remains to be seen.

O2 announced the news on its Twitter feed. It’s no surprise to find the operator leveraging its sponsorship of The O2 venue – where Jackson’s gigs are due to take place. It’ll be interesting to see if the operator also gets some exclusive content for its customers around the gigs.

The tickets will be sold from this website from 7am tomorrow morning (Wednesday 11th March).

Thank you, thank you, thank you! :D

  2. Bev Says:

Well my O2 priority password is not valid and neither are 2 friends of mine who have a password!!! To say we’re annoyed is an understatement!! Would love to know who else on O2 has not been able to get their ‘unique password’ for this event to work!!

  3. natalie Says:

ive received a code from the 02, but went online at 7am the website says server busy and link broken and phone lines 2402 free on 02 mobile say network busy it wont connect

  4. Kezzer Says:

I have an 02 priority password and is isn’t working!! AHHHHH!! The phone lines are busy too…this is madness!!

  5. Stuart Dredge Says:

Thanks for your comments – I’ve put up a separate post on the problems this morning (link below) – do keep us posted if and when you’re able to access the site.

  6. pp Says:

Me too – veryyyyyy gutted! especially when I got up early!:-(

  7. fanjoe1 Says:

I was up at 6am… and my 02 code doesnt work either. Total scam!

  8. jellywobble Says:

Got a priority code from O2 and managed to select my ticket choice – am now in a queue of “15 minutes or more” to find out if I’ve got tickets, but it has already been 25 minutes and counting. Rubbish infrastructure in place when they knew it was going to be unprecedented demand….

  9. jellywobble Says:

My wait time has now reduced to 12 minutes from 15 a few moments ago, so looks like the queue is working (more or less)….

  10. jellywobble Says:

No chance – system has just kicked me out again…..forget this, have to go to work! Good luck people….

  11. Sarah Over Says:

What a total mess up…password ‘not on system’. What a screw up. There is going to be some VERY mad people…myself included!!!

  12. Garry Freeburn Says:

This is infuriating! Just so bloody typical, I’ve been an o2 customer for years too.

TBH, I wasn’t suprised that the website went down, I logged on at exactly 7am and the box was there for 02 customers, I typed in my code that was sent via text and then it came up invalid password. So I tried again and the box just wasn’t there anymore.
I guess I’ll just need to slug it out over the phone on friday with the general public.

  13. v Says:

this is a joke – nothing works – the 0-2 priority is load of rubbish – the guy who pasted its only for opening night is rubbish – i know 3 other people and their codes dont work either – o2 are a joke

  14. Dd Says:

Ive been online from 6.15 an Ive got my password, an was told to go onto 02priority.co.uk/jackson so I tried that sit for ages an it wasnt available an now its half 8 an still not nothing, Ive even tried typing my password into ticketmaster where is says an still keeps saying my code aint rite, Ive tried ticketmaster from 7am an people on ebay have already got their tickets selling them for thousands just to make a profit, while theres true MJ fans out there that want tickets an cant get any… pissed off

  15. steed Says:

absolutely stupid same here been up since the early hours…code doesnt work at first then it jus keeps repeatin error after error after long wait after long wait o2 have some serious questions to answer for this total joke!

  16. MJ fan Says:

its kicked me out of the que about 10 times now! so annoying! but the codes work, just have to click the link from the o2 website, not the link from tthe text msg.

  17. MJ fan Says:

O2 tickets seem to have all gone now. i finally got through the que only to be told there were none left for the day i had selected, but cant find the promo code input box for o2 now :(

  18. Flipped Says:

I’ve been trying to get tickets since 7am but triggered all the server problems reported earlier. Eventually I was able to get in to the 15 minute of longer queue, then got kicked out. Now the O2 password I was given isn’t recognised… grrrr!

  19. kitkatkaty Says:

Apparently O2 only had 2000 tickets allocated. My code didn’t work either *waves fist*. Tried with presale code from MJ website and eventually got tickets. Just keep trying!

  20. Cheryl Says:

Have been up since 6.15 finally got through to website at 9.20 have tried constantly to text for code just this minute got through and got a text back saying the offer is over – it’s disgusting touts are already selling them for up to £1,000

  21. Lisa Says:

Well I have been up since 6am this morning logged on to the bookmarked page I was told to do and it kept repeating tickets will be on sale at 7am, time 7am went past it blocked me out. I then tried blueroom, gave up with that. Decided to call o2 the guy said he does not have any number for them. Tried my 02 mobile wap and realised i need to text jackson to 2402. Got my password got through and waiting ages for tickets then said none were available. Try for another date, done that then it asked me to enter my password…this time it failed and its failed since – I am disgusted in all this…really not fair grrr.

  22. chris Says:

got 4 floor tickets by using the MJ website code, had to wait about hour after having to try many times wasnt as bad as i thought it would be.. needed 5 tickets was going to use o2 code to get one more but only search twice without luck,, now they have sold all 2000 tickets they were allocated… soo happy got my hands on 4 but my sister wont be happy that she has to stay at home, or fight it out with my other brother..

  23. Lisa Says:

Chris – you lucky thing to get 4 floor tickets..just what I wanted. :( Suppose I will now just have to wait for the General sale on Friday – do this all over again.

  24. Karen Says:

I couldn’t get thru on the 02 website, but then checked my emails and had a code from MJ website, got them at 10.30! keep trying.

  25. Darren T Says:

I totally know where your coming from.

I received the text message from O2 saying text Jackson to 2402 for my password last night.

So this morning I was up bright an early and straight onto the O2 website. I selected the dates I preferred and best seats possible, inputted my password and clicked submit. I was brought up with a holding page saying that I was in a queue for 15 minutes. The time slowly decreased and my excitement grew……..

I then got a message saying that the dates I selected were invaild?! How are they invalid if I choose them from the dates provided?!

So I clicked the go back to the date page link and selected a different date and inputted my password and clicked submit…………….Only to be told that my
‘password you entered is not in our system. Please try again.’ ….. So I tried and tried again for about an hour and with no luck.

I thought then maybe if I try again in a few minutes it may work…..Nope it didn’t and I got the message that Priority Tickets are no longer available!!!!!!

I’ve been a loyal customer for 8 years and this just shows that they really don’t give a **** about there customers.

Thanks for the big let down O2, because of this I will be switching provider.

  26. Rodri Says:

I think I’m moving away from O2 now, this is ridiculous, I’ve manage to go to the ticketmaster website, but stood there for hours on the queue of the website.

said 15min or more, and everytim it got to 8/7/6min the page says sorry for the inconvinent… blah blah blah whats the point ???????? of being an O2 customer…????

  27. Dave Says:

I didn’t go down the o2 route, I got a code from the official website. Completely forgot about it until around 10am logged onto Ticketmaster and took me about 15 mins to find 4 tickets on the final day.

Took me another 10 mins to sell them on at face value to friends, keeping one for myself.

    Very pleased I didn’t use o2!!

  28. me Says:

O2 confused me to start with as I tried to enter my password into the general box on the ticketmaster website. only to get told that my password was invalid. I then realised I had to go via the O2 priority room which linked you to a special page on ticketmaster soley for o2 users. It took 3 attempts. and about 2 hours. but I got tickets, so o2 arent scamming as suggested by some. It’s just not made clear what you actually have to do.

  29. Lisa Says:

All dont give up with the passwords, finally got mine from the MJ live site – tried to get through ticketmaster on several attempts it failed and now I have tickets for dates in August – so there is a chance. good luck everyone.

  30. Kerry Says:

Well done to the one who got the tickets!!!!
I am still waiting for a code from the MichaelJacksonlive.com
they sent me a message this morning saying I was in line for a code, am still waiting!!!

But all this just shows u how BRILLIANT Michael is!!
    EVERYBODY wants him!!!!

I will have to wait until Friday I think!

  31. Dd Says:

    still tryin….

  32. Katie Says:

I got 3 this morning at 9.15 am after trying from 7am. 4 times I got kicked off including a time when I actually had the tickets up then the computer crashed before I could pay. But got some now! Hopefully can get some more Friday to sell on to make a profit like eveyone else is doing it seems. Its the credit crunch after all so if people will pay hurrah for the ones with the savvy to buy more than they need. And anyone who says they wouldn’t sell on tickets for MJ if they had spare ones on ebay for a profit is either a liar or stupid (not to mates of course)

  33. Nikki Says:

hmmm…wonder if you would be saying that if you hadnt been so LUCKY! Wouldn’t call it savvy myself, more Greedy. Ans yes I am of course bitter as I haven’t been as lucky as yourself.

  34. mj fan Says:

keep trying…i only just got some after being up since 6, they keep releasing new dats so my advice would be to get the tickets for them dates!

    good luck

    glad its all over!

  35. Nikki Says:

Did you use an 02 code or MJ code?

  36. mj fan Says:

Mj code! o2 codes will no longer work which has really bugged me – they never seem to get anything right!

  37. Nikki Says:

you’re not wrong there! not impressed at all by a wasted day, especially asI had the tickets on the screen at one point and it chucked me out as I was about to pay-that was at 8.30 this morning! and yep been trying since 6.30 like you.
Enjoy, sound like you deserve them!

  38. mj fan Says:

Thank you, good luck with urs too!!

  39. ep Says:

Codes still being sent out from MJ.com and new dates being added – just got tickets for 23rd Sept.

  40. mich Says:

i registered with the MJ website and got an email and text saying in a queue… does anyone know if they will stil be issuing more codes befor the general sale… i had an O2 code but website probs ike other people and then the code stopped working??? aaaghhhh!!! just really wanna see him!

  41. princess41 Says:

dont know if this will help but i entered my code in lower case and it didnt work tryed it in capitals (as this is the way it was sent to me) and it worked got my four tickets woohoo

  42. Nikki Says:

when did you get your tickets and for what date?

  43. MJ fan Says:

anyone know of dates still available? just got my code through

  44. ||ALFONSO™ Says:

Been trying since 7am but it told me ’sorry for the inconvenience’ after waiting ages! And now it’s saying No Tickets Avaiable for one of the following reasons:… etc but doesn’t specify which one! I mean how crap? I applied through the MJ site, got my code and tried Ticketmaster.

Does anyone know if we can still apply for tickets for the presale and when they might be on sale again? I really need to see my idol!! Thanks guys x

  45. jayne Says:

Pretty much the same problem as you guys. Registered at the MJ site….. got a text through giving me a code, went to TicketMaster and it says tickets are not available for one reason or another.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated

  46. MJ fan Says:

tickets went back onsale at 7am today
i just got mine finally!!!! but for january 2010!!! lol

my password from MJ online worked fine, just copies and paseted it.

there are def no o2 tickets left.

  47. Nikki Says:

Got my Tickets, I am so thankful. Is there any way I can find out where my tickets are. I am so pleased.

If you have an MJ code, try the Jan 2010 tickets, the others are all sold out (presale).

If you don’t have an MJ code keep applying on the website, I only got mine last nite after applying yesterday. (I’d tried all day yesterday on my 02 code, waste of time that was) and make sure you put the MJ website in your address book if you are applying my email, I think that mite have been what made the difference for me coz it came up straight away once I had done that.

Good Luck Everyone. Oh, and if anyone can tell me what my tickets are like please let me know BK413 RowT

    Thank-you

  48. Trinityvamp Says:

I got my tickets yesterday, after constantly ringing 2402 over 250 times, the website kept saying server busy, then when i finaly got through to Blueroom, after waiting in the queue for over 10 mins, it kept saying redirecting to event page, but with with sheer obsessive persistance i got 2 tickets, me and my daughter are so excited, ive been waiting 15 years to see him again Pleased!!!

  49. Trinityvamp Says:

    My code worked just fine!

  50. LAUREGAB Says:

  51. Kevin jenkins Says:

  52. mike Says:

I managed to use my full quota on the promo code but dont need all the tickets. Would anyone want to buy from me, block 107 for Thur 10 Sept. Any offers, slim3ple@yahoo.com

  53. Samantha Anderson Says:

I have tried mine and my boyfriends codes, every 15 minutes since 7am yesterday and ive had no luck…..
at first its was too busy then i had a waiting screen for 30 mins which was counting down from 15 mins, every time i got to 1 it apologised for inconveniencing me and i had to start all over again,
about 100 times later its said that neither codes are on there system!!!!!

    OUTRAGEOUS

If i didnt have an iphone i would cancel with o2!

  54. kay Says:

  60. Robyn Says:

Hi everyone i would really like some help to answer my question..

im going to try out the o2 priority ticketing this Friday as one of my favourite artists have announced their tour and ive read various comments about how their password code was invalid…

I would like to know 3 things:
    1. What should your priority password look like (number and letters, just numbers etc)

    2. How many letters and numbers in total?…
(as ive read different answers for this)

    3. and finally, when is the best time to get ready to get your tickets…it says the priority tickets doesnt go on sale until 10am but will it come up before?

    please someone help and reply!
    =D
