Ministry of Sound relaunches D2C website

ministry-of-sound-websiteDance brand Ministry of Sound has relaunched its flagship D2C website, and this time it’s been developed and managed in-house. The site went down in February following the collapse of Trinity Street, the company which ran it for MoS’ parent company MSHK.

Now, the dance firm has hired a four-strong development team and rebuilt the site in six weeks, complete with ecommerce features, blogs and editorial content, and a nicer design. Digital music downloads are being powered by Dx3.

“Just six months ago the outsourcing model made sense, but with so many small to medium sized platform providers at risk of collapse, and the major players still charging absurdly high licensing, build and management fees, it make perfect sense to ride this new wave and bring it all in-house,” says head of internet Rudy Tambala.

“There’s going to be huge fallout over next 12 months with many casualties, but we’ve taken the right steps to ensure that MSHK Group and ministryofsound.com won’t be one of them.”
