Alice In Chains to release iPhone app

Every band and their aunt has an iPhone app now: what makes Alice In Chain’s so special? The band have announced that their Black Gives Way to Blue app will be available tomorrow, but it does have some impressive-sounding features.

It does the obvious multimedia stuff, with full streams of three songs from the band’s latest album, as well as two videos. More content will be added in future updates, apparently. There’s also photos, a news feed, tour dates, a band bio and discography.

Social networking features are also in the app, with a fan wall for comments, and integration with Facebook and Twitter. However, there’s also an “interactive and immersive experience” for every track from the album, which gets fans to tap, drag and hold to find hidden features and Easter Eggs.

The app is the work of Mobile Roadie, Streetwise Concepts & Culture, and label EMI. You can see a demo above.
