MidemNet Lab: the 15 nominated startups revealed

Today sees the announcement of the 15 startups chosen to showcase their wares in the MidemNet Lab initiative at MIDEM in January. They were chosen by Music Ally and a team of industry judges from entries for the contest, with the nominees all getting space in the MidemNet Lab section of the show.

And the 15 selected startups are… *rustles envelope*

Aviary, Awdio, BandCentral, Band Metrics, DigiClef, GoMix, Kickstarter, Pops Worldwide, Radionomy, Silence, Media, Songkick, Streamjam, Thesixtyone, Tracksandfields, TuneWiki.

Full details can be found further down this post, along with links to their websites.

“The first edition of MidemNet Lab is extremely encouraging,” says MIDEM director Dominique Leguern. “Thanks to a selection process designed by MIDEM, involving a call for entries and selection by a jury of entrepreneurs, we have succeeded in unearthing some very innovative projects from all around the world. It is extremely exciting to put these 15 companies in contact with the wider music industry.”

Congratulations to the 15 selected companies. In case you’re wondering, they’re not all on our Startups of 2009 list, which was published yesterday. To avoid blabbing anyone’s stealth project, I was waiting for this announcement – those that are missing will be added this week.
