Kik reveals more details about BlackBerry music service

Heard of Kik? The startup is planning to launch a stream’n'buy music service, initially for BlackBerry handsets. We first caught wind of the company at the BlackBerry Developer Conference last month, when it presented its plans.

Now the company has published a YouTube video of that DevCon presentation, while also sending an email to people who’ve registered an interest in the service, giving some more details.

CEO Ted Livingston says the beta version of Kik Music will launch in Canada in the first quarter of 2010, followed soon after by the US. Meanwhile, in January the company will also launch a chat service, Kik Chat – “a place where you can share conversation, music and other content”.
