
MidemNet Lab Call for Entry in association with Music Ally
MidemNet and Music Ally are on the lookout for the hottest new digital companies for 2010. MidemNet Lab aims to seek out the most enterprising, innovative and inspiring new digital business models and provide a high profile showcase for their talents throughout the whole of MidemNet and the overall MIDEM event.
MIDEM is the world's music market which takes place in Cannes, France from 23-27 January 2010. The MidemNet Lab is a project taking place in a dedicated area on the trade show. MidemNet Lab will showcase the talents of 15 start-ups bringing exciting new digital solutions to the music industry. Each company will be able to present their business models through presentations, video demonstrations and face-to-face meetings with MIDEM delegates.

Who should apply? - Your company must be relatively new (i.e. it should not have been operating commercially for more than approximately three years) - Your company's technology and/or business concept should demonstrate genuine innovation and original thinking - Your company's technology and/or business concept needs to show a genuine business impact for potential partners and the music business - Your company's technology and/or business concept must be business ready, ideally in either beta or already launched commercially (i.e. more than just a business plan or idea) |
What will the successful applicants receive?
- Your company will benefit from a complimentary MidemNet/MIDEM registration, including access to the exhibitions' floor/market, the conferences & the concerts
- Your company will receive one night's hotel accommodation hotel stay in a residence category
- Your company will benefit from high visibility in MIDEM marketing tools and dedicated press releases to the world press.
What will the successful applicants be expected to do?
- Each winning company will prepare a short demonstration video to help to present their business in the MidemNet Lab demonstration area (this needs to be submitted in advance of the event – deadline to be confirmed)
- Each winning company will appoint one top level executive to pitch MIDEM delegates with a short presentation introducing the company, its business model and how to work best with the company (the short presentation needs to be submitted in advance of the event deadline to be confirmed)
- Each winning company will meet face to face with MIDEM delegates during 2h30 and network with potential business partners
What's the timetable?
The deadline for submissions is Tuesday 27th October 2009. Successful applicants will be notified during November 2009 and the event takes place from 23-27 January 2010.

What happens next?
Music Ally will select the best and brightest to come and present their ideas to the MidemNet on the 17th and 18th of January 2009 where they will be voted upon by the attending delegates. As part of the invitation each successful applicant will receive a free pass to both the MidemNet and the main Midem conference plus one night's free accomodation.
