In April 2011 Music Ally was asked by EMI music to provide an inhouse strategy workshop on the social games sector. The workshop consisted of a presentation and subsequent brainstorming session, with a view to developing several commercial ideas to exploit music within a social gaming environment.

Within six months that label had become the first major to sign a partnership to sell music within a social game on Facebook using the social network’s Facebook Credits virtual currency. The partnership secured the label broadsheet coverage, and also helped to position it as genuinely innovative as well as enabling the label to experiment with new revenue streams.

Case Study: Universal Music


Music Ally prepared and ran inhouse staff training on digital marketing for Universal Music Group both in the UK and overseas during 2008 / 2009.

The training sessions were run at Universals offices and covered areas including mobile and social media marketing. Following the first round of training we were commissioned to provide another round of more advanced courses with a wider reach.

Since then Music Ally has been hired by AIM to run training sessions for London based music companies; and more recently by EMI on a global basis.
