Hulu owners say they won’t be selling after all
After a protracted negotiation process, it seems online video portal Hulu isn’t being sold. The company’s owners News Corporation, Providence Equity Partners and The Walt Disney Company have issued a statement calling a halt to the sell-off. “Since Hulu holds a unique and compelling strategic value to each of its owners, we have terminated the sale process and look forward to working together to continue mapping out its path to even greater success.

Report claims Apple may acquire Hulu online video service
Online TV portal Hulu has been up for sale for a few months now, with a host of suitors rumoured including Google and Yahoo. Now Apple appears to be in the frame as well, at least according to a report on Bloomberg. It claims that Apple “is in early talks that may lead to an offer” for Hulu, in order to add a subscription-based TV service to its iTunes arsenal.

Hulu on course for 1m paying subscribers, but stii likely to be sold
US online TV service Hulu is on course to hit a Spotify-style seven figure milestone of paying subscribers this year, according to CEO Jason Kilar. He says that the company now has more than 875,000 premium users, meaning it is well on track to reach its target of one million by the end of 2011.

Hulu launches Hulu Plus subscription service
Following months of speculation that online video portal Hulu was planning a premium version, Hulu Plus has been announced. It costs $9.99 a month, and gives subscribers more TV shows, and access from a wider range of devices including PC, iPad, iPhone, PS3 and selected Samsung Blu-ray players.
