In 2006, online display ads accounted for 6.5 percent of total ad spending, up from 5.8 percent a year ago.The top 10 advertisers of 2006 spent a combined $18.73 billion, a drop of 2.8 percent versus the prior year. Overall, TNS said total 2006 ad spending gained 4.1 percent to $149.6 billion as compared to 2005.
